Team Black Jack
Corvette makes a pretty good road car, especially in the sharp-looking top-of-the-line, Z06. The factory standard 650BHP moves the car along pretty well...
...but there's always room for a little "improvement", such as:

-
changing supercharger pulley to boost the good stuff going in
-
bypassing one set of catalytic converters to help the bad stuff out
-
improving the cold air intake, again to help breathing
-
and reducing the drag from the rear wing

All of which has bumped up the engine output towards 800BHP at the rear wheels... which get all that extra grunt onto the road with the addition of slick tires (for track use).
And since it would be a shame not to let the car have its head from time to time, Team Black Jack has done a little track work and some standing mile runs at the Texas Mile in Victoria, most recently at the end of March, 2018. Read on for a report...
Texas Mile, Victoria, March 23-25, 2018
The Texas Mile takes place on the airfield at Victoria, where a 1-mile course is set up on the main north-south runway.
From a standing start, speeds are electronically recorded at the quarter, half and full mile (after which there's a half-mile shut-down stretch before turn-off).
Participants are performance enthusiasts, with motorcycles, performance street cars, race cars and record-chasing land speed racers.

Here's how the March 2018 event went for Team Black Jack:
